The Return of the New Kids

I don't know if the rest of you are as into the return of the New Kids On The Block as I am (some of you probably don't even remember them) but I am so excited. Not so much for their Fantastic Music, but I think remembering their band and the songs that they sang, takes me back to when I was younger. I talked my parents into letting me go see them in concert...the catch! I had to take my MOM! The other catch... I had to pay for her and Me! So I paid 35.00 per ticket so that mom and I could go. These tickets were on the grass too. Not even a nice seat to sit it. So the night of the concert, my mom and three of my friends loaded up and drove right into the craziness. I remember driving up hearing people talk about seeing them and touching their hands as they drove past. I was so wishing that it had been my hand that they had touched.

So I watched them on the Today show last week and they were not as good as I remember, but I am still excited to see what these "New Kids" can come up with next.

Teaching Time

Tonight Mike and I were working with Jordan on some school things. He has had some speech problems since he was little. He has a hard time saying some sounds. He kept saying 12-14-15. He could not pronounce 13. Mike and I were trying to teach him how to say thirteen. Finally we called down Mackenzie who was in bed. We asked her to say thirteen and she said it flawlessly. So she began to try and teach Jordan. It was so funny to watch her explain how to say it. She was telling Jordan where to put his tongue when he said it. Mackenzie is such a little teacher. I guess we will have to use her more when we need a little extra help!

Women's Conference

If you read Marcia's Blog then you have already heard that Marcia and I met mom in Provo for a girls weekend. It was SO MUCH FUN! I think that I really needed time to be me. I think sometimes as mothers and wives, we get caught up in taking care of everyone else that we don't take the time to take care of ourselves. I learned a lot from the Women's Conference at BYU that we went to. I learned thing that not only helped me, but things that I could do to help my family. I love my family more then anything else in this world, and would not change anything about my life, but I am so thankful that I got a little me time. Mike was a little worried about me going and him being in charge while I was gone, but he did great and was glad that I had a good time. He was jealous that I go to go back to Utah and he did not, but soon we will be able to take a trip back. Here are a few pictures from my weekend. I miss everyone out there so much!

I look so small in this picture. I don't get to say that too often!
Hailee was the favorite person this weekend!

Marcia and I took this at a concert we went to on campus.

I loved this picture. My grandma with my baby!
Me and one of my favorite women. I love you Nana!

First Attempt

I just added my first slide show and I know that I made a few mistakes, but I was too tired to try and fix them. I will try again next time. Enjoy!

I did not want to forget...

Tonight, McKay was at the table having his "treat" he earned during dinner before he went to bed. I was watching American Idol and he asked, "why do you get to watch TV". My response was "because I am the mom". He announced to me that "when I am the dad, no one will go to church, no one will go to school, and no one will go to bed". McKay and I will have to have a talk when he is the dad.

The Missing Tooth

We were having dinner one night when Jordan says "McKay is missing a tooth" to which I responded, "He is not." Jordan was the one with a missing tooth and McKay was not even 5 yet. So I stood up and went to his chair to see what these kids were talking about. When I looked in his mouth, there was no tooth. I asked him where he lost his tooth at and he did not know. I asked if his tooth was loose and he did not know. My first child to lose a tooth and we don't even have the evidence of it. So that night we wrote a letter to the tooth fairy so that McKay could still get the loot that he deserved for his missing tooth. I was sadly aware that we were entering the next stage of childhood.

A lot has happened since I last posted. First on April 27th, we blessed Hailee. It was such a neat day. Her dad blessed her with Grandpa Pickup and Grandpa Karpowitz in the circle. It was very special day. We go to play with our family while they were here and had a great time. Thanks to all of them for coming and sharing this special time with us. We truley are thankful to our Heavenly Father for sending such a special spirit into our home. Here are a few pictures from our weekend.
