Rexburg will have a temple.
On Saturday, I was able to take the kids to the ground breaking ceremony for the Rexburg Temple. It was really neat to be there with my little kids. There were really well behaved. Elder Groberg came to the ground breaking and while he was talking, he was telling about when the Idaho Falls temple was dedicated he was only 11. He said the he had the impression that there was going to be a temple in Rexburg one day and that he would have something to do with it. I bet he did not think that he would be an apostle that was dedicating the land to the Lord. What a great time we live it.
Something to make us all think
As most of you know, Mike and I serve in the Primary. Today during singing time, the kids were learning a new song. I think that it is such a great song for all of us to hear and sing. I wanted to have all of you hear the words.
"If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do? Would I follow His commandments and try harder to be true. Would I follow His example, would I live more
righteously, if I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me.
"If the Savior stood beside me, would I say the things I say? Would my words be true and kind if He was never far away? Would I try to share the gospel, would I speak more reverently? If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me."
"He is always near me, though I do not see him there. And because he loves me dearly I am in his watchful care. So I’ll be the kind of person that I know I’d like to be if I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me."
As we were singing it today, I felt the Savior there with us and I knew that he loved me and that I, we, are in is watchful care. Right after we were done singing, Jordan was called on to give the closing prayer. I was able to help him pray for the first time in Primary and again I felt the Saviors love for my son. I know how much I love Jordan and I can only imagine how much the Savior loves my little boys and girl. I hope that all of you reading this can read these words and feel the Saviors love for you. It is a great song. I am going to put the words in a frame for my family to read every day and remind us that altough we can not see Him, our Savior really is close to us each and ever day.

Ice Cream Summer
Last night as we drove the the lake, we stopped and got an ice cream for the kids. It was a push pop. They LOVED it. As you can tell by their faces. McKay enjoyed his so much that it was not all off if his face until this morning. On the way home, there was a car stopped in the middle of the road and so we drove up by them and asked them if they needed any help. They said that there was a dog that jumped into their car and the could not get him out. It was a BIG dog. We had some left over food in our car, so Mike got out and lured the dog out of the car with the food. We thougt that it was so funny. How often do you hear of a car stopped because there is a dog in that won't get out!!
Our first Bee Bite
Today was a sad day for miss mackenzie. She was stung by a bee. Or as she would tell you..."I got a bee bite" We had all walked out to the mail box and while I was thumbing through the mail, I heard her start to scream. I looked and she was near a trailer and thought maybe there was a nail or something that she had scrapped her leg on. When I got there I could see bees flying all over the place. I looked down at her adorable little leg and could see where the bee had got her. We came in the house and put ice on it ( I really did not know what to do for a bee sting). Then we made a baking soda paste to help with the pain. The boys were so concerned about her. They were trying to tell her that it was going to be OK. When Mike got home, she was showing off her leg adn saying "daddy, yook my bee bite" Mike of course hugged her and was so sad for her. She then said with lots of feeling "daddy, no no bee bites anymore". So we survived our first conflict with the bees. Hopefully we don't have anymore for a long while.

A fish with a new home!
On Saturday we went to the lake to go boating. Jordan went out on the boat with his favorite blue hat. When he came back, he was crying the saddest cry that I have ever heard. I had not idea what happened. He told me that his blue hat flew off his head. It was the saddest thing that I had ever seen. I wanted to cry with him. He kept asking his dad to go back out and look for the hat. The boys all did, but they could not find it. We were able to distract Jordan until we got in the car. Then the talk of the blue hat came back up. We told Jordan that on Monday we would go and get him a new blue hat...or any color that he wanted. He still wanted the new hat, but also the old blue one too. We had read that book about the farmer who loses his hat and finds that a bird has taken the hat and made a new home in it. So the farmer got a new one. We told Jordan that the fish had made a new home in his hat and that was a really nice thing for him to do. He thought about it for a while and then told us that he wanted to go and get his fishing pole so that he could go and get his hat. Mike and I thought it was so funny. Needless to say, we talked about the hat the whole 45 minute drive home.
