Announcing...

Well, this weekend was a busy one for our family. It started out by Mike getting back into town on Friday night around 1am. We were glad that he was home. We spent Saturday getting lots done (and a little bit of play in there too). We were going, going all day long. For dinner we decided to go out for Mike's birthday (it was on Monday). So we found a place here close to home because it was getting late. About 1/2 way through dinner I started to feels some contractions. After a few of them, I told Mike that I was starting to feel something. As we ate, they got stronger and stronger. They were coming ever 4 minutes. So we loaded up the kids and headed home. At this point they were hurting enough that I could not talk when I was having one. I was trying not to scare the kids so I was talking to them a little about what was going on when I was not having one. During our drive home, Jordan looked at Mackenzie and said, "this is what you are going to have to do one day" Mike and I thought it was so funny.
So we came home and decided to time them and see if they got any harder. They did, so we called our friend and she came over. It was about 9:30 at this time. I had been having contractions since 7:00. We got to the hospital and they hooked me all up and things were going OK. After about 3 hours things really slowed down. I was still having strong contractions, but not near as close. I was getting really discouraged. Since it was the middle of the night, the Dr was not going to come in until I was getting ready to deliver or it was morning time. So I labored all night long and went from a 4 to a 6. The Dr came in around 6:30 for a ER call and came to see me. He broke my water and then things started to happen. I got my epidural around 7:45 and then she was born at 9:24. Her deliver was very quick and because of that she was bruised all over her face. But she was healthy and strong and weighted in at 7lbs 15oz. and was 19 3/4 in long. We named her Laci Kaye Karpowitz. She is the biggest baby that I have had. She is so cute and we are all in love with her. I am so thankful that she came a little early and we can start the adjustment process.

Here is a picture of me before we left for the hospital.
